RRF Channel – Memory Channel I – can be accessed via the central interface
The first channel is the basic channel dealing with individualized memory filtered through curators and curated artists from different countries around the globe. How deal artists from different cultural, social and political background with the fundamental questions of mankind.
The issues of Memory and identity belong to the essention questions of mankind, especially currently in the processes of globalization, a world without any boarders due to Internet and the new communicatiopn technologies.
The location of a person does not really matter any longer as long as he has the access to these technologies.
The crucial point is, while the highly technilogized Western cultures have this access and high speed Internet belongs to the livings standards already, has the majority of the world population no access to any technology, but has to fight each days for survival, hunger and thirst.
RRF Channel incorporates contribution of many curators from different regions on the globe and show via the selections how artists deal with the issues of “memory and identity”.
was realized in 2003 as an indipendant project and was launched in the framework of Biennale of New Media Art Merida/Mexico 2003, , before the global networking project started in 2004 and became part of RRF200x—>XP only on 1. January 2005.
It features the curatorial contributions by Wilton Azevedo (Brazil), Anna Hatzianaki (Greece), Branca Bencic (Croatia),
Caterina Davinio (Italy) ,
Fran Ilich (Mexico) , Evgenyi Umansky (Russia), Melody Parker-Carter (Germany) and Agricola de Cologne (Germany) .
represents actually the conceptual centre of [R][R][F]200x—XP and was set up together with the other memory channels for the presentation at National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucarest/Romania in March 2004.
It incorporates curatorial contributions by Raul Ferrera-Balanquet (Cuba/USA), Gita Hashemi (Canada/Iran), Stefan Tiron/Calin man (Romania), Bjoern Norberg (Sweden), Eva Sjuve (Norway/Sweden), Winston Yang (China), Agricola de Cologne & Raquel Partnoy (Germany/Argentina), Melody Parker-Carter (Germany) and Agricola de Cologne (Germany)
Especially featured is the project “Women: Memory of Repression in Argentina“, which was running from 2005 on also separately,
and The “Remembering the Future” by Arial Yanay-Shany curated by Agricola de Cologne
was launched in November 2006 on occasion of 2nd Digital Art festival Rosario/Argentina as the finalization of the RRF project environment. After nearly three year of successfully running and presentations on all continents, Agricola de Cologne was curating himself this final RRF version.
The selected works show again the artistic power, Internet based art has to offer to a new art audience.
